Windows 7 SP1 Build 7601.16556 Leaks in the Wild

Following the recently leaked Build 7601.16537 and Build 7601.16543 of Windows 7 Service Pack 1, a new build has now leaked to the wild. The leaked build is 7601.16556.100421-1510 Service Pack 1, v.172 and was compiled on 21st April 2010. Source of this leak is WZOR, who has managed to slip this one through Microsoft’s fortress yet again.

At the moment, we don’t know for sure what major changes will Service Pack 1 bring to Windows 7, apart from the usual bug fixes. The greatest beneficiaries of it will be Windows Server 2008 users. WZOR has also stated that the build will expire somewhere between April and July 2011, and is available in different languages such as English, Japanese and German.
This is not the first time that it has happened to some build of Windows 7. Many Windows 7 builds – including M1, Beta, post Beta, RC and RTM were all leaked before their scheduled release, or announcements.
Windows 7 RTM was announced back in July 2009. It is publicly available since the official launch, which was held on October 22nd 2009. Check out our Windows 7 Center for the complete coverage on the latest client version of Windows.
