Gingerbread Theme for CyanogenMod 6.1

Android 2.3 Gingerbread isn’t going to be released for any device till the Nexus S is launched on December 16 and Nexus One users are also eagerly waiting for the launch along with other Android phone users


A developer at XDA has managed to develop a Gingerbread (Android 2.3) theme/metamorph for CyanogenMod 6.1 users.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Review

Yes, we finally got our hands on the best Android tablet (cum phone) available in the market right now – the Samsung Galaxy Tab. So far, I have spent almost a week playing with it: watched videos and listened to music, made voice and video calls, social networks, emails etc.
In this review, I won’t compare it with the iPad (Galaxy Tab vs iPad) or if it comes on par with it, but will do it with the Samsung Galaxy S (See: Galaxy S Review). Full review after the jump!

Root Nexus S with Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Nexus S went live at Best Buy stores from today, and I’m sure many of you Android fans would have probably got one by now.




We’re not yet confirmed if there is a method available to root Nexus S, but you can easily unlock Nexus S bootloader.

LinkedIn has rolled out their very first, official Android app in beta. The app is not available in the Android Market as they are still testing out the app.



This new LinkedIn Mobile app for Android devices is in public beta with basic features at the moment, but LinkedIn team is slowly going to add more features to the app.



How to Get Nexus S Recovery Mode

Nexus S has been launched in stores and people who have got their hands on it are already messing around with the device trying to break in Gingerbread and port it to other devices.




Our first bet would be that Gingerbread on the Nexus S will first get ported to the Samsung Galaxy S. Anyways, if you want to get into the recovery mode on Nexus S, follow the instructions after the jump.

Chrome OS Netbooks Release Date And Price

Chrome OS just got announced along with the Chrome netbook that does nothing but the pure web experience right inside of the Chrome browser.


The Chrome OS event is live right now and going through the Q&A session.

Chrome Netbooks Release Date

Chrome OS powered netbooks are expected to ship next year (2011) through Verizon. No specific date mentioned. The current limited CR48 hardware will be available to Google employees and some CIOs for testing.

According to Sundar of Google, there are still many factors to consider by manufacturers – so in other words, they have no word on the pricing yet for the Chrome netbooks.

Google Nexus S vs Samsung Galaxy S

Google partnered with Samsung to bring the pure Google Android experience on a mobile phone in the form of, the Nexus S, which was unveiled a couple of days back along with the next Android OS update – Ginngerbread Android 2.3.



Nexus S is very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S family in technical specifications, and from that is where Google decided to work on the Nexus S, unlike the Nexus One which was made from scratch.

Facebook launched Social Messaging today in a special Facebook Mail event where they announced how they could merge emails, conversations, text messages and friends – all at one place which will be known as Facebook Social Messaging.

Nexus S on Video with Eric Schmidt

Yes! Samsung Nexus S is finally on video, and not by any leaked source. Eric Schmidt showcased an “unannounced device” (probably the Google Nexus S) and talked about Gingerbread (Android 2.3) running on board that device. This device is built by Samsung.

Samsung Nexus Two Revealed: Hands On by Gizmodo

Samsung Nexus Two has finally been spotted in the wild. Till yesterday, Nexus Two was just a rumour but the device actually exists and somewhat we are pretty sure that Samsung is going to announce the Nexus Two on November 8.

Gizmodo managed to get their hands on with the Samsung Nexus Two. According to them, it has the same plastic body as that of the Galaxy S but it’s curved from the back like the older iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy S Review

Samsung Galaxy S – the fastest and the most powerful Android handset available is now in our hands for a full review. Galaxy Spica was Samsung’s first Android phone which didn’t do too well in the market because of low specifications, and it had Android 1.5 which was never updated to Eclair.

It’s been a week since I started using the Samsung Galaxy S as my primary phone – and to be honest, I’ve never been this happy with a phone than this one. You pretty much got the idea how the review will go now.

BREAKING: PlayStation 3 / PS3 Has Been Finally Hacked to Run Games Without Original Discs [Video]

It was only a few days ago when we reported about the new Xbox 360 Slim / S getting “hacked” treatment by modders. Cloud Wars: Microsoft Office Web Apps or Google Docs?

At Wordwide Partner Conference in New Orleans, Microsoft announced the technical preview of Microsoft Office 2010. Concurrently, Microsoft also revealed more details about Office Web Apps. The apps are lightweight, browser-based versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

Microsoft: iPhone 4 = Windows Vista [Yay or Nay?]

There is no question about Windows Vista being a PR failure for Microsoft. But so is iPhone 4 turning out to be one for Apple. Who thought bots would be guiding us where to find a place for Parking? Guess what, Google is here to serve the cause. Today Google released a new app for their Android operating system titled Open Spot. This app would let users find a vacant spot for parking by marking any nearby spot so other users can see and approach it. This is similar to the you-help-me-i-help-you system, in which users parking the car will indicate on their app all the nearby vacant parking spots which will be seen by other users using the same app and present in the area to get a chance to park their vehicles at the marked spot.

China Renewed Google’s Internet Content Provider (ICP) License

The Chinese government doesn’t like Google. This is why China’s internet is barred from everything which is Google. China is probably the only place on earth where Google is struggling to do well. Microsoft Releases Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview 2 for Developers

Internet Explorer 9 is shaping out to be quite a significant jump over its current incarnation i.e. Internet Explorer 8. Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 Released

Microsoft today has announced the general availability of Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4. In a press release today, the company announced that VS2010 and the new .NET Framework 4 will be available for developers after the launch event which is taking place in Las Vegas today. The final version of Silverlight 4 will also be available later this week.

iPhone 4 Jailbroken Already !

Yes you read that right! iPhone 4 has been successfully jailbroken only within a few days of launch! It looks like the “userland” jailbreak vulnerability which was used by Spirit jailbreak tool was not all that properly patched by Apple, and hence @planetbeing (of Android port for iPhone fame) and @chpwn has managed to get root access on the device using code of @comex’s userland jailbreak method. @Planetbeing posted about this news on his Twitter account.

Spirit Jailbreak Fix for iTunes 9.2 on iOS 3.1.3 for iPhone and iOS 3.2 for iPad

The best and the most easiest jailbreak tool has just been updated (unofficially?) to bring support for iTunes 9.2. Earlier when Apple released the final version of iTunes 9.2, it broke the compatibility with Spirit and so this new version brings the required fix to make it compatible with iTunes 9.2. However no new feature has been added. It still does not work with iOS 4 and iPhone 4. Only iOS 3.1.3 and 3.1.2 for iPhone 3GS, 3G, 2G, iPod touch, and iOS 3.2 for iPad is supported.
