Skype 2.0 for iPhone Brings VoIP Calls over 3G Network !

Its finally here ! The newly released Skype 2.0 for iPhone enables the much awaited VoIP calls over 3G network. This feature though will only be free to use until August 2010, after which a small fee (via in-app purchase perhaps?) will apply. Carrier charges of course will cost extra. Microsoft Releases Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview 2 for Developers

Internet Explorer 9 is shaping out to be quite a significant jump over its current incarnation i.e. Internet Explorer 8. The first platform preview of IE9, which was released back in March at MIX10 had significant performance increase over IE8. The new IE9 Preview 2 has even more improvements. The first platform preview of IE9 scored an impressive 55 out of 100 on Acid3 test. This number has now reached 68.

Facebook Videos Go HTML5 for iPad and iPhone [Update: It’s MP4, Not HTML5]

Great news for Facebook users who either own an iPhone, iPod and especially an iPad. Facebook has finally taken the big step, all the videos on Facebook are now in HTML5 format, therefore you can now view them directly on your beloved iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

Obama’s Twitter Account Hacked by French Hacker

A 25 year old Frenchman was successful in hacking into US President Barack Obama’s, and Britney Spears’ Twitter account this Wednesday. According to Reuters, this young Frenchman used administrator account of Twitter to break into account of US politicians and stars. No harm was done though as the hacker didn’t extract any personal account information. He did it all for thrill and fun.

Silverlight 4 Facebook Client Released for Windows and Mac

Microsoft has just released Silverlight 4 based facebook client for both Windows and Mac OS X. Back in April last year, Microsoft showed off a proof of concept facebook client which was made using facebook’s Open Stream API on Silverlight but unfortunately that never saw the light of the day. After a long wait, they have finally released a fully working client for users running Windows and OS X – with full capability to run it out-of-the-browser.

Apple Has Lost Yet Another 4th-Gen iPhone, this Time in Full White !

Finally, after all those leaked white front panel rumors, white and colored rendering of the next iPhone, it now looks like Apple has finally lost yet another iPhone 4G / HD, this time in full “White” color! This leak if anything, almost confirms that Apple has plans to launch a white iPhone 4, but unlike iPhone 3G/3GS, it will be white full around to the front panel.

Microsoft to Launch Project Natal Worldwide in October 2010

Windows 7 SP1 Build 7601.16556 Leaks in the Wild

Following the recently leaked Build 7601.16537 and Build 7601.16543 of Windows 7 Service Pack 1, a new build has now leaked to the wild. The leaked build is 7601.16556.100421-1510 Service Pack 1, v.172 and was compiled on 21st April 2010. Source of this leak is WZOR, who has managed to slip this one through Microsoft’s fortress yet again.

iFixer Fix for Spirit and Blackra1n Jailbreak Users

 iFixer is a new utility that will fix iTunes 9.1.x related errors when running Spirit Jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, or blackra1n on Windows. The program basically has two buttons: “Make it Spirit!” and “Make it ra1n!”. Clicking on each of them will solve the respective iTunes 9.1.1 related issue.

Skyfire 2.0 for Android Review, Screenshots Tour

Skyfire 2.0 for Android was launched yesterday. It is the first public beta after the limited private beta version for early testers. The browser is very stable, faster than Fennec for Android and yes, it could play Flash videos (YouTube only so far) too that we all have been waiting for! Other Flash elements don’t work though, but let’s say, it’s just the beginning!
