Next iPhone Will Have A Taller 4-Inch Display, 2mm Thinner Than Current iPhone, Smaller Dock Connector

New details have emerged courtesy of Apple blog iLounge suggesting the next iPhone will not follow the rumored teardrop design, but instead follow a more conventional form factor seen in both the iPhone 4 and 4S.

The device, which nobody seems sure will called, is reckoned to finally be breaking the small-screen mold, and will follow the lead of many Android units by increasing the screen to a more agreeable four-inches. The long-standing argument as to why Apple has kept the screen at 3.5 while the likes of Samsung and HTC knock on the door of 5-inch displays, has been that the average thumb can only cover that diameter, thus allowing the iPhone to be used in one hand where others require two hands for operation.

Microsoft Launches Bing Desktop Beta, Search To Your Windows 7 Desktop – Download Now

Microsoft has released a new piece of beta software, and this time it’s search-based. Called the Bing Desktop Beta, the software is, predictably, a beta release of a desktop-based search tool that Microsoft is hoping will give people a reason to make the switch to its search engine, and leave Google behind once and for all.
The app itself is something of an oddity. For starters, it doesn’t really do a great deal other than offer two features, both arguably a little on the boring side and one definitely a tad on the pointless side. Think we’re being harsh? Then read on!

Microsoft has just released Silverlight 4 based facebook client for both Windows and Mac OS X. Back in April last year, Microsoft showed off a proof of concept facebook client which was made using facebook’s Open Stream API on Silverlight but unfortunately that never saw the light of the day. After a long wait, they have finally released a fully working client for users running Windows and OS X – with full capability to run it out-of-the browser

Facebook Messenger for iPhone and Android Released

Facebook has just launched their Facebook Messenger for Mobile, a standalone messaging app for smartphones. According to Mashable, Facebook will be rolling out several new features to its Facebook Chat feature. Now you can send messages directly to your friends on their mobile phones, so you stay in touch no matter where you go.Message friends using Facebook Messenger for Mobile or anyone in your mobile contacts. This looks more of an approach like WhatsApp, BlackBerry Messenger etc.
Messaging is now even faster and you don’t have to be online in Facebook Chat all the time just to chat with friends. You can stay offline in Facebook Chat and still chat with friends using the mobile app.
Facebook Messenger for Mobile also supports group conversations, to make plans on the go and you can also share photos. I’m guessing, Facebook would soon be releasing video chat features as well to themobile apps.

What is Code Igniter?

Code Igniter It is developed by the fine people over at pMachine, creators of the Expression Engine CMS. Code Igniter (CI) uses the Model-View-Controller (MVC) approach similar to that of Ruby on Rails. However, it is a bit loose in it’s approach toMVC as a model does not have to be used. CI is lightweight, which means it starts you off with just the basic libraries and you can load more if needed. Speaking of libraries, CI comes with a nice selection of libraries to get you going quickly, such as connecting to a database, sending email, validating form data, maintaining sessions, manipulating images, and more. Another thing to keep in mind is that CI’s user guide is superb and the forums are alive with people who are more than willing to help. Both will prove to be invaluable when starting kout!
