CorePlayer 2.0 for Android, In Development

CorePlayer 2.0 for Android is currently in development. The popular media player will soon be brought to the Android platform.

I have my hopes high for CorePlayer as there is not even a single media app on Android that could play all the video formats i.e MKV etc.






Skype for Android Full Version Coming Soon?

Skype Lite, the Android version of Skype was taken down from the Android Market yesterday. It was not one of the best apps, but it did its job.
This could mean two things. Skype is going to release the full version of Skype for Android with all the features, or there have been mistake due to which Skype Lite is down.

Fring Adds Video Calls Support for Nokia E71


Fring has now added support for video calls over the Internet for Symbian OS 9.2 devices i.e Nokia E71, E66 etc.

They launched the first ever mobile video calling over the Internet a few months ago starting from only a few devices to test with. Now more devices are being added to the list.

Blacksn0w v2 to Unlock iPhone 3.1.3 – Coming Soon

Blacksn0w v2 will unlock iPhone 3GS and 3G on iPhone 3.1.3 OS. The team behind the iPhone 3.1.3 jailbreak tool, Gull1hack, is also working on the tool to unlock iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 firmware.

Google Shopper was released a few days ago for Android phones. It changes the way how you find products on your Android phone to buy them online.

This app helps you find detailed information about books, CD, DVD, books and video games. More products and categories will hopefully be added later.

Silverlight 4 Facebook Client Released for Windows and Mac

Microsoft has just released Silverlight 4 based facebook client for both Windows and Mac OS X. Back in April last year, Microsoft showed off a proof of concept facebook client which was made using facebook’s Open Stream API on Silverlight but unfortunately that never saw the light of the day. After a long wait, they have finally released a fully working client for users running Windows and OS X – with full capability to run it out-of-the-browser.

iPhone 4.0 to be Unveiled on March 14th?

An anonymous tipster has just dropped us a tip which reads “Apple will demo iPhone OS 4.0 on March 14th”. Digging for more info on this, we found out that Cult of Mac also received a similar a tip yesterday but since 14th March happens to be a Sunday, it is highly unlikely that Apple is going to demo or unveil their new OS on a Sunday morning.

Apple Bans iPhone Hackers Apple ID from App Store

Well it looks like Apple has started banning iPhone hackers from the iTunes App Store. Sherif Hashim, the iPhone developer and hacker who recently found an exploit in the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3, which could enable the unlock on 05.12.01 base band for iPhone 3GS and 3G devices has been banned by Apple for the so called “security reasons”. This is what Sherif gets when he tries to access App Store from his iPhone.

Heavy Rain is an upcoming exclusive PS3 game being developed by Quantic Dream. It is set to release on 23rd February 2010. According to the director, Heavy Rain would be “a very dark film noir thriller with mature themes”, without any supernatural elements.

Google Buzz Desktop


Google Buzz Desktop is a free Adobe AIR client that allows you to update Buzz from your desktop.

Like Twitter and Facebook, Buzz also has a very cluttered web interface and it would be better if you use it with a clean and simple desktop client. You won’t have to open your Gmail just to update Buzz.

To hard reset Nexus One has never been this easy. In the past Android phones, to do a clean wipe of our device, we always had to go to the recovery and wipe the data partition.

But in the latest Android 2.1 running on the Nexus One, Google has given an option to restore all settings and the entire phone to factory defaults which is kinda like wiping your data partition completely.
